The Proton VPN Black Friday sale runs from Monday, October 26 to November 30, 2026, and its headline offer is 75% off VPN Plus on the 24-month plan. That’s a bigger cut on a longer plan than last year, when Proton VPN offered up to 70% off the 12-month plan. Proton’s other apps are discounted too: 60% off Mail Plus, Drive Plus and Pass Plus, and 50% off the Proton Unlimited bundle.
The offer is available only through partner links, like the buttons on this page. Proton hasn’t published the final price, so the checkout shows the exact amount. Below you’ll find what VPN Plus includes, why the free plan isn’t enough for streaming and what you pay at renewal. All details were checked on October 23, 2026.
Every discount runs for the same dates, from October 26 to November 30, 2026. What changes is the plan length each discount applies to.
Plan | Discount | Plan length |
|---|---|---|
VPN Plus | 75% | 24 months |
Mail Plus | 60% | 12 months |
Drive Plus | 60% | 12 months |
Pass Plus | 60% | 12 months |
Proton Unlimited | 50% | 12 months |
For reference, these are the regular VPN Plus prices: $4.49 a month on the 12-month plan and $3.49 a month on the 24-month plan, which comes to $83.76 for the first 2 years. Proton uses the same numbers in dollars, euros and Swiss francs. For 2026, the checkout shows the final figure, so you’ll see exactly what you pay before you confirm.
One detail is easy to miss: Proton offers these discounts only through partner links. Opening protonvpn.com directly may show a different price, so start from the button below. Before October 26 you’ll see Proton’s current prices; from that Monday on, the Black Friday price applies at checkout.
ProtonVPNTop-tier securityThe 75% discount applies only to the 24-month VPN Plus plan. It’s the longest plan Proton VPN sells and the one that already has the lowest regular monthly price, so the sale makes a good deal better. You pay for the full 24 months at checkout.
Proton VPN Free is a genuinely free plan with no data limit. It covers 1 device and gives you servers in 10 countries. What it doesn’t include is streaming. If you want to watch your streaming services through the VPN, you need VPN Plus, which also brings P2P support, NetShield and Secure Core, plus 10 devices instead of 1.
In short, Free works well for occasional private browsing on one phone. Plus is the plan for a household that streams.
Proton’s other apps get 60% off their 12-month plans: Mail Plus for encrypted email, Drive Plus for cloud storage and Pass Plus for passwords. Proton Unlimited, at 50% off for 12 months, bundles everything in one subscription: the VPN, Pass, Mail, Calendar and Drive, with 500 GB of storage and 15 email addresses.
Unlimited is worth a look if you’d use at least two Proton apps. If you only want the VPN, the 75% deal on the 24-month VPN Plus plan is the stronger discount.
VPN Plus is Proton VPN’s full plan. Here’s what you get:
10 devices connected at the same time.
More than 20,000 servers in over 140 countries.
Streaming support, which the free plan doesn’t have.
P2P support for file sharing.
NetShield, which blocks ads and malware.
Secure Core, a double VPN that first routes your traffic through a server in a privacy-friendly country.
Proton is a Swiss company based in Geneva, the same company behind Proton Mail. For many buyers that background is the reason to choose Proton VPN: the company was built around privacy.
NetShield runs in the background and blocks ads and malware as you browse. Secure Core is the one to switch on when you want an extra layer of protection, for example on a network you don’t trust. Both are part of VPN Plus and not available on the free plan.
With VPN Plus, yes: streaming is part of the plan. A VPN changes the country your connection appears to come from, which lets you reach your home streaming apps when you travel. It doesn’t replace the subscription itself, so you still pay for Netflix, Disney+ or your sports service as usual.
The same plan protects you away from home. On hotel or airport Wi-Fi, the VPN encrypts everything your phone or laptop sends, the streaming app included, and NetShield blocks malicious sites along the way.

ProtonVPNTop-tier securityThe sale price covers your first 24 months. After that, VPN Plus renews every 12 months at $83.88, the regular yearly price, and it renews automatically. Mark the date if you’d like to compare offers before then.
If Proton VPN doesn’t suit you, you can cancel within 30 days of the purchase and get a full refund. Proton allows one refund per user, and it applies to purchases made directly with Proton, such as through its website or apps. Payments by cash or bank transfer aren’t refundable.
Before you pay, read the line under the plan you pick. Proton lists the price for the first term next to the renewal price that follows, so you know both numbers up front and nothing comes as a surprise in two years.
Two other big VPNs are on sale at the same time. Surfshark offers Surfshark One for the price of Starter, $2.49 a month before tax on 2 years plus 3 months free, until December 1. NordVPN takes up to 78% off with 3 extra months, and drops its Basic plan to $2.99 a month from November 24 to December 1. If you want the lowest confirmed monthly price, that’s Surfshark; if you want privacy first, it’s Proton VPN. Every price and date is in our Black Friday VPN deals roundup.
Proton VPN stands out on privacy features and its Swiss base, while Surfshark has no device limit and NordVPN adds the NordPass password manager to its higher plans. For a closer look, read our NordVPN vs Proton VPN and Proton VPN vs Surfshark comparisons.
If privacy matters most to you and you stream, yes. VPN Plus at 75% off on the 24-month plan beats last year’s best Proton VPN offer of up to 70%, with streaming, Secure Core and 10 devices included. If you also use Proton Mail or Drive, check Proton Unlimited at 50% off before you decide.
