STVR :Šport is the public-service sports channel of the Slovak broadcaster STVR, which was known as RTVS until 1 July 2024. You watch it free and live on stvr.sk. It carries live sports broadcasts, sports news and magazine shows, along with archive footage and documentaries. Its coverage is broad: ice hockey, football, biathlon, skiing, athletics, tennis and the Olympic Games. It went on air on 20 December 2021 as the broadcaster’s fourth channel. Full HD, and available only in Slovakia.

  • December 2021Public broadcaster RTVS launched the standalone Šport channel on 20 December 2021 as its fourth television service, running non-stop around the clock from day one.
  • February 2022The channel’s first big showcase was the Beijing Winter Olympics in February 2022, carried live and confirming its focus on Olympic and winter sport.
  • July 2024Under law 157/2024, RTVS was renamed Slovak Television and Radio (STVR) on 1 July 2024, and the sports channel moved under the new organisation and brand.
  • April 2025On 1 April 2025 STVR announced exclusive contracts that made it Slovakia’s biggest football broadcaster: at least 140 live matches a season across the Slovnaft Cup, MONACObet league and women’s DEMIŠPORT league, on a four-year deal.
  • May 2025On 12 May 2025 the STVR board elected producer Martina Flašíková as its new director general; she collected her appointment decree a day later and took charge of the broadcaster.
  • May 2026From 4 May 2026 STVR began rolling out a new visual identity across all its television channels under director general Martina Flašíková, with fresh station logos and unified on-screen graphics introduced gradually.
