- La 7 began on 14 April 2006 with test broadcasts of the Holy Week processions from Murcia, Cartagena and Lorca, carried only on analog television at first.
- The definitive program schedule launched on 23 October 2006, making the channel the main public television service of the Region of Murcia.
- On 19 August 2009 the simulcast channel 7RM HD launched on digital terrestrial television, moving broadcasts into high definition.
- On 31 March 2015 the Secuoya group (Central Broadcaster Media) signed the management contract, putting the regional service under a private concession.
- Around 2020 the channel adopted the La 7 name and color-coded logos for weather, sports and news, bringing back its three-color identity.
- In early 2022 CBM, a Secuoya subsidiary, won the five-year contract with a 13.1 million euro annual budget (65.9 million euros in total for the 2022-2027 period).
- On 9 February 2023 the standalone La 7 TV app arrived for iOS and Android, bundling the live channel, the a-la-carta section and regional news on mobile.
- The regional government opened the 2027-2032 concession tender, whose viability study projects roughly 10.5 million euros a year; the current contract runs until 20 April 2027.
