How to Watch iFollow outside the UK: VPN Guide 2026
There’s no standalone iFollow app: the service lives inside the websites and official apps of English Football League clubs, from Watford to Wrexham AFC, and EFL Digital Limited runs it out of Preston. What you get depends on where you are. UK fans haven’t been able to buy live match video since the 2024/25 season, only live audio commentary, replays and highlights. iFollow outside the UK is a different story, with video passes for live games starting at 25 GBP a month or 180 GBP a season for fans outside Britain.
In 2026/27, every League One and League Two league game is live; from the Championship, only the matches TV partners didn’t pick. British fan heading abroad? We recommend Surfshark. A VPN with a UK server changes your virtual location, so your British iFollow account, commentary, replays and club content are right there on the road, just like at home. Video plays in HD, live on one device at a time.

Who’s behind the service?
What is iFollow
iFollow is the official streaming service of English Football League clubs, run by EFL Digital Limited out of Preston. There’s no standalone iFollow app: it lives in your browser and inside each participating club’s official app for iPhone, iPad and Android, from Watford and Wrexham to Sheffield Wednesday. Fans based outside the UK buy passes for live match video, while in Britain it carries live audio commentary, replays and highlights. The commentary always comes from the club itself, so you hear the game the way the home end does.
Company and history
- The company that runs iFollow today is incorporated at Companies House, the UK business registry, under the name DE FACTO 898 LIMITED.
- FL Interactive Limited changes its name to EFL Digital Limited, the Preston-based company that operates the service to this day.
- The EFL unveils iFollow, a platform for live streaming and club content that replaces PlayerHD. Overseas fans paid the equivalent of 110 GBP a season at the time.
- The EFL confirms the first matches streamed for a fee to fans in the UK and Ireland, covering the opening weeks of the 2018/19 season.
- With crowd limits at stadiums, clubs temporarily stream matches not shown on Sky Sports for 10 GBP per game, a stopgap measure at the time.
- From the 2024/25 season, UK fans can no longer buy a match video pass. Sky Sports+ takes over domestic streaming, while live audio commentary stays.
- The 2026/27 FAQ puts every League One and League Two league game live for overseas fans. The list holds 16 clubs; Barrow, Colchester United, Coventry City, Harrogate Town, Morecambe and Shrewsbury Town are missing versus April 2026.

Tips & tricks you should know
5 tips from our iFollow testing team · Updated October 19, 2026
- Got a UK audio pass? According to the FAQ, you can keep listening to your club's live commentary while traveling abroad, just sign in to your usual account.
- Living outside the UK? A 2026/27 video pass streams every League One and League Two league match live, while Championship coverage includes only games the EFL's TV partners didn't pick.
- There's no standalone iFollow app: grab your club's official app, say Wrexham's or Sheffield Wednesday's, from the App Store or Google Play (iOS 15 or Android 8 and up).
- Don't count on a smart TV app, since iFollow doesn't have one; stream in a laptop or tablet browser instead, and keep in mind only one device can play a live stream at a time.
- We recommend Surfshark with a UK server: it moves your virtual location back home, so your iFollow subscription, commentary and club replays are right there on the road, just like at home.
