How to Watch MUTV outside the UK: VPN Guide 2026
Manchester United’s own channel went on air on September 10, 1998, and since January 2013 the club has owned all of it. Today MUTV is above all an online subscription: the 24/7 channel stream, the full Premier League collection of United matches, “90 in 20” cutdowns, club documentaries and every game of the men’s preseason tour live. On October 19, 2026, the site and subscription page loaded from Europe with no geo-block message, though the lineup may vary by country. So here’s how to watch MUTV outside the UK with the full home lineup.
One thing up front: because of broadcasting rights, the channel does not show live men’s matches during the season. You get live audio commentary plus studio shows before kickoff, at halftime and afterward. We recommend Surfshark with a server in the United Kingdom: it changes your virtual location, so you can watch your MUTV subscription anywhere in the world just like at home in Britain. The Monthly Pass costs ≈ $10.68/mo in the app.

Quick answer
Can you watch MUTV outside the UK?
Yes. The subscription is sold worldwide with pricing set by country, and when we checked from Europe the site loaded with no geo-block message. Some shows may not be available outside your account’s country, though, and live men’s matches during the season aren’t part of MUTV at all. With Surfshark on a UK server, the Premier League archive, the live preseason tour and the manager’s press conferences are yours within minutes.

Steer clear of free VPNs. Most of them actually collect and sell your data, lack proper security audits, and can even expose you to malware. They’re also useless for streaming. Platforms block them instantly, leaving you with more headaches than solutions. Stick to paid VPNs with verified audits, like Surfshark, if you want something that actually works.

What is MUTV
MUTV is Manchester United’s own TV channel, on air since 1998 and now an online subscription for fans who want more of the club than matchday. It streams the channel around the clock, alongside the United Premier League archive, full replays, 90 in 20 condensed games, club documentaries and live preseason tour matches, plus selected women’s and academy games. Live men’s matches during the season aren’t shown, only live audio commentary. Watch in the Manchester United app on iPhone, iPad and Android, or on Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, Xbox and the web.
Company and history

- The club buys Sky's one-third stake, and from this point the channel is wholly owned by the Manchester United group, with no broadcaster left as a shareholder.
- The club channel starts broadcasting in HD, so fans watch its shows in high definition for the first time.
- The club launches its channel app on Samsung, LG and Android TV smart TVs, putting United shows straight onto the big screen.
- A new generation of the Manchester United app arrives with version 26.0.0, a complete refresh. It is the app fans use to watch the club channel on phones and tablets.
- The Manchester United app adds a dark mode in version 27.0.3, which also covers the club channel that the app carries on phones and tablets.

Insider Tips
Tips & tricks you should know
5 tips from our MUTV testing team · Updated October 19, 2026
- Don't skip the men's preseason tour: MUTV streams every tour match live, so you get the full picture of the new-look squad before the season starts.
- Follow the whole club, not just the first team: MUTV carries selected women's games and U18 and U23 academy matches live.
- Quiet night on the road? MUTV Originals bundles the club's films and documentaries into boxsets, perfect for a longer watch.
- Don't mix them up: an online MUTV subscription doesn't include the MUTV TV channel on Sky, but if you already get the channel through Sky, unlock digital access via Sky Activation with your Sky Viewing card number.
- Traveling outside the UK? We recommend Surfshark with a UK server, so your Premier League archive, full match replays and club documentaries come along for the trip.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before subscribing to MUTV.
The Monthly Pass costs ≈ $10.68/mo as an in-app purchase on the App Store. On manutd.com the club sells only MUTV Annual, at £29.99 a year, which is on the App Store too. You always pay for MUTV yourself; a VPN, if you use one, is a separate service. Payment works with PayPal, Mastercard or Visa.
No. Because of broadcasting rights, MUTV doesn’t show live men’s matches during the season, so no Premier League, cup or Champions League games live. You get live audio commentary and studio shows before kickoff, at halftime and afterward. What does stream live: every men’s preseason tour game, selected women’s and academy (U18, U23) matches and the manager’s press conferences.
We recommend Surfshark with a UK server. It changes your virtual location, so you can watch your subscription anywhere in the world just like at home in Britain, including shows that may differ outside your account’s country. With a VPN it takes a few minutes to reach the Premier League archive, full match replays, MUTV Originals and the 24/7 channel stream.
No. The online subscription does not include the MUTV TV channel through a pay TV provider. In Britain that channel is an add-on to Sky TV on Sky Glass or Sky Stream at £7 a month. If you already pay for it on Sky, you can activate digital access through Sky Activation by entering your Sky Viewing card number.
You can watch on manutd.com, iPhone and iPad, Android through the Manchester United app, Android TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, LG and Samsung smart TVs from 2020 models on, and Xbox. Roku is available in selected markets only. Chromecast and AirPlay let you cast from your phone to the TV. The club app holds a 4.6 rating on the UK App Store.
Just one: MUTV plays on one device at a time. Start a stream on a second device and playback switches over, ending on the first. In a house where one person wants the women’s game and another the manager’s press conference, that means taking turns. Think of one account as one screen, whether you’re on a phone or a TV.
Some clips are open to everyone, and more unlock after a free sign-up; look for the “Login to Watch” label. Full matches and “90 in 20” cutdowns are for MUTV subscribers only and show “Upgrade to Watch” instead. A free account covers quick highlights, but the Premier League archive needs a subscription.
It’s operated by MUTV Limited, based on Sir Matt Busby Way at Old Trafford in Manchester and part of Manchester United. The channel has been on air since September 10, 1998, and the club has owned all of it since January 2013. Everything is in English and centers on United: the men, the women and the academy.
MUTV covers Manchester United and nothing else. For sports streaming in the US more broadly, one well-known option is ESPN+. For United’s own shows, the match archive and club documentaries in one place, though, MUTV is it, and with Surfshark on a UK server you get the full British lineup.
