Fetch TV is not a streaming app in the usual sense. It is an Australian set-top box platform that pulls free-to-air channels, paid themed packs and apps such as Netflix and Stan into one interface, with Telstra holding the majority stake since 2022. Every licence behind Fetch TV stops at the Australian border, so the player checks the IP address on each request and refuses to start once you are outside. Since December 2025 Fetch TV has also run on a monthly Fetch Access subscription, with the Kids, Knowledge, Variety and Vibe packs sold on top.
That catches out anyone who bought the hardware while living in Australia and carried it home. The box will not come up outside the Australian network at all, and the apps return a regional error instead of a player. An Australian server on Surfshark moves the connection back where the account belongs, and quality runs up to 4K. The four steps below cover the setup, and the questions after them cover pricing, hardware and limits.
