HBO confirmed the date in its official trailer release on Tuesday, October 13, 2026: the eight-episode fourth season debuts on Sunday, November 1, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and is available to stream on HBO Max. The date itself was first announced with a teaser on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
In the UK, Spain and France, the date shifts by a day. Sky says season 4 premieres on Sky Atlantic on Monday, November 2, 2026, “in line with the US.” HBO Max España announced the same Monday for Spain, and HBO Max announced November 2 for France too.
US clocks fall back to standard time early on November 1, so the premiere airs on Eastern Standard Time. Here is what 9 p.m. ET on Sunday means in other cities. This is a conversion of the US premiere, not a release time for any other country:

No one has announced when the first episode unlocks on HBO Max in Europe. So do not set an alarm for 3 a.m. in Madrid based on this table; it only tells you when Americans are watching.
Season 4 has 8 episodes. In the US, they come out weekly on Sundays, according to Warner Bros. Discovery’s list of what is new on HBO Max in November. HBO has not published dates for individual episodes or for the finale.
Our math: with one episode every Sunday and no breaks, episode 8 would air on Sunday, December 20, 2026. Treat that as a calculation, not an announcement. A skipped week would push the finale later.

The UK is the twist. HBO Max launched in Britain and Ireland on Thursday, March 26, 2026, but on October 26, 2026, HBO Max UK still had no page for The Gilded Age. Under the deal between Sky and Warner Bros. Discovery, existing franchises and their future series continue on Sky Atlantic for Sky customers. Sky has confirmed season 4 on Sky Atlantic and NOW. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, seasons 1 to 3 are on HBO Max, which launched there in January 2026. Sky announced the German start of season 4, and no one has said yet whether HBO Max in those three countries will carry it too. In Belgium, HBO Max has seasons 1 to 3, and season 4 has no date there yet.
This is where travelers get caught. Say you pay for HBO Max in the US and spend November in London: open the app there and you get the British catalog, which does not list the show. Inside the EU, portability rules let you keep your home subscription while you are temporarily abroad. Outside the EU, or on a longer stay, you see the catalog of the country you are in.

The official cast list for season 4 also includes Cynthia Nixon, Taissa Farmiga, Harry Richardson, Audra McDonald and Kelli O’Hara, with Bill Camp and Phylicia Rashad.
According to Deadline, 11 actors join the ensemble: Taylor Trensch, James Scully, Dennis Haysbert, Maggie Kuntz, Neal Huff, Bonnie Milligan, Jim Gaffigan, Dallas Roberts, Andrew Burnap, Elizabeth Marvel and Adrienne Warren. HBO has not said whom they play, so we will not guess either.

HBO keeps the official synopsis short, and so will we. Bertha Russell changed Society, but it came at a cost, and now her family has to deal with the consequences. Agnes van Rhijn spots an opportunity to win back her position.
Meanwhile, Marian sets out on a path of her own, and Peggy works to be accepted by the family she is about to marry into. The synopsis ends on a warning for this new era: be careful what you wish for.

In the US, seasons 1 to 3 are on HBO Max today, on the same show page where season 4 starts streaming on November 1. The same three seasons are on HBO Max in Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and the Mexican page already lists four. In the UK, the HBO Max site has no page for the show, so Sky is its home there.
