RTPA is the free public broadcaster of Asturias in Spain, built around the channels TPA7 and TPA8 and based in Gijón. - TPA, the Asturian channel, began regular broadcasts with the second edition of TPA Noticias from Gijón. The public service set out to cover the principality and voice the region.
- The broadcaster launched a second channel as TPA2, later renamed TPA8. It widened the lineup with lighter, complementary formats alongside the flagship feed.
- TPA news marked five years on air and confirmed its place as the region's main newsroom. The in-house bulletins settled in as the backbone of the daily schedule.
- Channels TPA7 and TPA8 moved to HD broadcasting with a fresh look and renewed newscasts. At the same time the older TPA9 HD channel ceased and handed over its role.
- RTPA announced live coverage of Real Oviedo and Real Sporting de Gijón preseason. RTPA carried both clubs' summer friendlies to viewers in full and at no cost.
- RTPA marked twenty years of regular broadcasting with special programming under the slogan “20 años contigo”. RTPA aired anniversary newscasts from emblematic sites across Asturias.
