Mühlviertel TV is a free regional channel for the Mühlviertel, a four-district area in Upper Austria. It used to run under the MF1 name and, since 2009, has been solely owned by Elisabeth Keplinger-Radler. - The regional channel launches under the name MF1, short for Mühlviertel Fernsehen 1. From day one it aims squarely at viewers across the four Mühlviertel districts of Upper Austria.
- After a run of renames (M4TV, MT1), Upper Austrian private broadcaster LT1 takes a 70 percent stake in the station. A year later it owns the channel outright, run by manager Andreas Reimer.
- The sudden death of Andreas Reimer throws the channel into crisis. The indebted station is promptly taken over by 27-year-old Elisabeth Keplinger-Radler as sole owner and manager.
- The new owner launches a full reboot: new company, the new name Mühlviertel TV, fresh design, equipment and office. The brand positions itself purely around positive regional news.
- From autumn the station also reaches the Astra 19.2 degrees satellite, through a shared slot on the TV1 satellite channel. That opens the signal up to viewers across the German-speaking area.
- The station releases its own mobile app for iOS and Android. Viewers pick favourite towns and districts, get push alerts, and cast the stream to the TV via AirPlay or FireTV.
- After twelve years on the TV1 satellite channel, the broadcast moves to LT1, the largest Upper Austrian private channel. Viewers simply retune; the magazine now reruns daily at four fixed slots.
- The app receives version 2.1 with improved article search. The update also refines FireTV streaming and AirPlay, making the hop from phone to big screen smoother.
- The newsroom rolls into 2026 at full tilt, covering the Mühlviertel building fair in Freistadt and other local events while adding a fresh magazine episode every Friday.
