It works as a complementary channel for broadcast overlaps and secondary sports: ice hockey, UEFA football cups, skiing, volleyball, basketball, tennis and athletics. - The JOJ Group launched its first sports channel, JOJ Šport, on 6 October 2021, bringing hockey, football and other live events to Slovak viewers.
- In April 2022 the JOJ Play streaming service arrived, moving the group's sports coverage and shows onto the web, mobile and smart TVs.
- Ahead of the 2023/24 season JOJ Šport became the main broadcaster of Slovakia's Tipos Extraliga after RTVS lost the rights, with games also carried on the JOJ Play stream.
- On 21 January 2025 JOJ Šport 2 launched as the JOJ Group's second sports channel, available only on JOJ Play, carrying overlapping broadcasts and secondary sports beyond the main channel.
- By March 2025 more than twenty operators, including Slovak Telekom, had added the channel to their line-ups, spreading the new channel quickly across Slovak households.
- For the 2025/26 season the group split its European football coverage, pushing some UEFA Conference and Europa League fixtures onto the second channel to solve overlaps.
- On 1 January 2026 the JOJ Group ended its free-to-air terrestrial broadcasting, moving big sporting events behind a subscription and onto the JOJ Play stream.
- In May 2026 the JOJ Group carried the Ice Hockey World Championship across its channels: Slovakia's games and the medal matches on the main TV JOJ, the rest on JOJ Šport, JOJ Plus and JOJ Play.
