- JOJ Group launched the JOJ Šport linear channel on 6 October 2021, its first television dedicated purely to sport. The debut broadcast opened that evening with Slovak leagues and home athletes.
- From the 2023/24 season, JOJ Šport became the main broadcaster of the Tipos Extraliga ice hockey league. Slovakia’s top competition moved under the JOJ Group umbrella and its JOJ Play platform.
- In 2024, JOJ Group secured exclusive Slovak rights to the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship through 2034. The tournaments now run across the JOJ Šport channels every spring.
- Ahead of 2024/25, JOJ Šport became Slovakia’s home of the UEFA Europa and Conference League, with first pick of the round’s match. Thursday European nights now stream straight on JOJ Play.
- On 21 January 2025, a second channel, JOJ Šport 2, arrived for parallel broadcasts and niche sports. The group also raised the JOJ Play premium tier that unlocks JOJ Šport without ads.
- On 11 June 2026, the FIFA World Cup kicked off. JOJ Šport holds the main Slovak rights and airs more than 50 matches, while a sublicence shares part of the coverage with public broadcaster STVR.
