TV Land is a US cable channel owned by Paramount Skydance through Paramount Media Networks. It launched in 1996, originally as Nick at Nite’s TV Land, and today leans heavily on reruns of classic and recent shows: The Andy Griffith Show, Gunsmoke, Everybody Loves Raymond, Two and a Half Men, and The King of Queens. Its former flagship original Younger ended in 2021. The channel is US only and has no standalone subscription. - The channel launched on April 29, 1996 as "Nick at Nite’s TV Land", a spin-off of the Nick at Nite block devoted entirely to reruns of classic American television series.
- In late November 1997 the network dropped the "Nick at Nite’s" prefix and became a standalone brand, TV Land, with its own identity and programming schedule.
- On June 23, 2015 the channel announced a rebrand by studio Loyalkaspar, retiring the double-trapezoid logo as it pushed toward a more modern look and original programming.
- Flagship original series Younger moved its seventh and final season to Paramount+ on April 15, 2021, effectively closing the channel’s era of original programming.
- In February 2025 TV Land faced removal from YouTube TV amid a carriage-fee dispute with Paramount; a last-minute deal kept the channel in the lineup alongside other Paramount networks.
- The Skydance-Paramount merger closed on August 7, 2025, forming Paramount Skydance Corporation; TV Land now sits under the new group, with shares trading under the ticker PSKY.
- Paramount Skydance announced a definitive agreement to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery for $110.9 billion on February 27, 2026; WBD shareholders approved it on April 23, 2026, with closing expected in Q3 2026 pending regulatory clearance.
