- Together TV launches on 18 September 2000 as the Community Channel, a UK non-profit station built to give airtime to charities, communities and causes that commercial TV tended to overlook.
- After a successful crowdfunder the station converts into a community benefit society owned by over 200 shareholders, creating its hallmark model of a national broadcaster owned by its own audience.
- On 16 January 2018 the channel rebrands as Together TV and returns to Freeview on channel 93, turning the old Community Channel into a modern feel-good TV brand.
- The channel sets up the Diverse Film Fund, a grant scheme for short documentaries by underrepresented filmmakers; its first cohort produces the acclaimed film Our Land.
- Our Land, made through the Diverse Film Fund, wins the BAFTA for Best Short Form Programme in May 2022, a huge prestige milestone for such a small non-profit channel.
- At the end of 2023 the channel returns to standard-definition broadcasting on Freeview 83 and widens its reach across Sky 170, Virgin 136 and Freesat, pushing free-to-air access back to the front.
- In April 2024 the Diverse Film Fund runs its Life Beyond Labels edition, focused on deaf, disabled and neurodivergent filmmakers, with Whisper and the BSLBT joining as partners.
- In September 2025 the channel marked 25 years since the Community Channel first aired, with a celebratory afternoon tea at the House of Lords hosted by Lord Grade and around 150 guests.
