How to Watch That’s TV from Anywhere: VPN Guide 2026
Spend years on British telly and you grow attached to the reruns. That's TV is a free, ad-funded online television network from the UK, launched by That’s Media back in 2014 and now built around classic British comedy and drama, local news bulletins, and, since February 2026, a set of music FAST channels on Pluto TV and Rakuten TV. There is no sign-up and no subscription, just the odd advert between the shows, which makes it an easy stop for anyone who grew up on British telly.
The snag hits the moment you leave Britain. The That's TV broadcast feeds and FAST streams are aimed at UK audiences, so a holiday or a work posting abroad throws up a geo-block. Surfshark fixes that: pick a UK server, get a British IP, and the site and apps treat you as if you never left the sofa. Picture quality runs up to 1080p, depending on your line, and access itself stays completely free.

Who’s behind the service?
What is That's TV
That’s TV is a free, ad-supported British network of nostalgia and classic-television channels, run by That’s Media Ltd under Daniel Cass and based in Manchester. The first station launched in 2014, and today the service broadcasts nationally on Freeview channel 56, mixing archive comedy, vintage drama and local news from around the country. In February 2026 its music output shifted onto FAST platforms such as Pluto TV, Rakuten TV and LG Channels, and the original linear music channels closed at the same time. Everything streams at no cost with adverts, and there is no account or login to set up. The official home is thats.tv. The lineup serves a British audience, so viewers outside the UK may meet regional restrictions.

Company and history
- That’s Solent, the network’s first station, goes on air under an Ofcom local digital television licence. It marks the start of the That’s Media project for regional broadcasting across the UK.
- After the STV2 channel folds on 30 June 2018, the network launches Scottish stations on 15 October in Aberdeen, Ayr, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow, cementing That’s Media as the UK’s largest local TV operator.
- On 23 April the network takes over the local television licences of Sheffield Live! in South Yorkshire and Northern Visions Television in Belfast, adding new regions and reinforcing its lead in UK local broadcasting.
- Two classic-entertainment channels on Freeview (56 and 65) vanish from screens without warning amid a distribution dispute. They return after several days, but the outage also hits Freely viewers.
- Overnight from 28 February into 1 March the linear music channels That’s 80s, Oldies and Melody close on Sky and Freeview and move to the FAST platforms Pluto TV, Rakuten TV and LG Channels.
- That’s TV 2 and That’s 20th Century leave Sky and Virgin Media but stay on Freeview and Freely. The network keeps trimming its satellite footprint and leans on terrestrial broadcast and FAST.
