- According to trade press reports, Vrio, then an AT&T subsidiary, launches DIRECTV GO in Brazil, offering live channels over the internet. Streamco Brasil runs the service.
- On November 15, 2021, Grupo Werthein takes over 100 percent of Vrio from AT&T. The group includes satellite SKY and DIRECTV GO, Brazil included.
- SKY Play, the app for SKY satellite customers, shuts down. Today those customers find their online content in SKY+ at no extra charge.
- The SKY+ app goes live in the Brazilian App Store for iPhone and iPad, the first visible step of the new brand that replaces DGO a few days later.
- In Brazil, DGO becomes SKY+. The skymais.com.br website goes live with the slogan "SKY+ chegou!" and the new brand picks up where DIRECTV GO and DGO left off.
- According to trade press reports, SKY+ rolls out bundles that combine live channels with Amazon Prime, Disney+, Paramount+, HBO Max, Premiere and SportyNet+ in a single price.
- According to press reports (Teletime, May 21, 2026), regional operator Brisanet announces it will shut down its Brisaplay streaming service on July 31, 2026. Its customers move to SKY+ automatically, with no contract change and at the same price.
