How to Watch +SBT outside Brazil: VPN Guide 2026
When PSG faced Arsenal in the Champions League final on May 30, 2026, SBT carried the game on broadcast TV and inside its own free streaming app at the same time. Outside Brazil, though, the website blocks access based on the country you connect from (measured outside Brazil). To watch +SBT outside Brazil, connect to a VPN server in Brazil: it changes your virtual location, so SBT shows, novelas, news and football play anywhere in the world just like at home.
+SBT, pronounced “mais SBT,” is the streaming arm of broadcaster SBT, part of Grupo Silvio Santos. It’s entirely free and ad supported, with no paid tier and no in-app purchases. On demand you get movies, novelas, series, variety shows and a kids section. Live, there’s SBT’s broadcast in real time plus extra channels, including the 24-hour SBT News channel since December 2025. Champions League matches and, in the 2026 season, Copa Sul-Americana games stream live alongside the TV signal. For the VPN, we recommend ExpressVPN.

Quick answer
Is +SBT available outside Brazil?
Not directly, because the site checks which country you’re connecting from, but a Brazilian VPN server gets you in within minutes. We recommend ExpressVPN, billed separately; +SBT itself costs nothing. Once you’re connected, open mais.sbt.com.br and pick SBT’s live broadcast in real time, the 24-hour SBT News channel, or novelas and shows on demand. A +SBT account is optional and mostly keeps track of what you were watching.

Takes about 2 minutes. Works on your phone, tablet, TV, PC, or laptop.

- Open mais.sbt.com.brA desktop browser is the quickest route. You won’t find the +SBT app in your local App Store, so the website is the simplest place to start.
- Tune in live or on demandStart SBT’s live broadcast, flip over to SBT News 24h, or browse novelas and shows. When SBT airs a Champions League match or, in the 2026 season, a Copa Sul-Americana game, it streams live on +SBT too.

Steer clear of free VPNs. Most of them actually collect and sell your data, lack proper security audits, and can even expose you to malware. They’re also useless for streaming. Platforms block them instantly, leaving you with more headaches than solutions. Stick to paid VPNs with verified audits, like ExpressVPN, if you want something that actually works.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before you start watching +SBT.
Yes. +SBT is fully free and funded by advertising: the App Store lists it as “Grátis” and Google Play flags “Contains ads,” while the developer says advertising partners are what keep it free. There’s no paid tier, no trial and nothing to buy in the app. Outside Brazil, the only cost is the VPN; we recommend ExpressVPN, which is its own separate subscription.
The block is based on the country of your IP address, and it covers the whole site, not just the video player. A VPN server in Brazil changes your virtual location, so +SBT lets you into its shows, novelas, news and football the same way it does for viewers inside Brazil. With ExpressVPN, you can unlock it all in a few minutes.
According to SBT News in November 2024, +SBT runs on Android and iOS phones and tablets, on computers through the web, and on Samsung, LG and Google TV smart TVs. You can also mirror your screen with Chromecast or AirPlay. On iPhone and iPad, you need iOS 15 or later.
Yes. SBT shows the UEFA Champions League and, in the 2026 season, the Copa Sul-Americana on free-to-air TV, and those matches stream live on +SBT as well.
Yes. The SBT News channel has been on air 24 hours a day since December 15, 2025, and +SBT is one of the ways it reaches viewers. It’s a handy way for Brazilians living in the US to keep up with headlines from home, and solid listening practice if you’re learning Portuguese.
Per SBT News in November 2024, +SBT is 100% free with no screen limit and doesn’t even require you to log in. An optional account is still worth having: it remembers what you started watching, lets you clear titles from the continue watching row, and unlocks parental controls in the app.
Shows, novelas and newscasts are in Portuguese, exactly as SBT broadcasts them in Brazil. The App Store lists the +SBT app itself in Portuguese and English, so menus are easy to navigate even if you don’t speak Portuguese yet. For anyone studying Brazilian Portuguese, it’s a free stream of everyday spoken language.
Pretty well. You’ll find the current App Store and Google Play scores in the Trust signals box above, and on Google Play +SBT has passed 10 million downloads. Development hasn’t stalled either: version 2.1.9, released September 21, 2026, introduced a new video player and push notifications that link straight to an episode.
In spirit, yes. If you know YouTube TV as live television over the internet, the idea will feel familiar: live channels up front, a library of shows on demand behind them. The difference is the model and the market. +SBT is free with ads and built for Brazil, so from the US you’ll need a VPN; we recommend ExpressVPN.
The linear SBT channel is also part of paid packages from SKY+ and Zapping Brasil, both covered on StreamFix as separate platforms. That’s a different, paid route to the same channel, bundled with other networks. If SBT and its on-demand library are all you’re after, free +SBT is the simpler option.
It does. SBT announced the “original +SBT” label on August 1, 2024 for its own documentaries, scripted productions and exclusive content made for the service.
The service is operated by TVSBT Canal 4 de São Paulo S/A, in other words the SBT network, which belongs to Grupo Silvio Santos. It launched on August 19, 2024, the day SBT turned 43. At launch it offered more than 7,000 hours of content and 10 live channels, according to SBT News.
