How to watch L’Équipe Live Foot outside France in 2026
L’Équipe, the French sports publisher, switched on a paid all-football channel on 3 June 2024 and built it for one thing: live matches. L’Équipe Live Foot now leans on World Cup 2026 qualifiers, selected Nations League fixtures, European club-competition qualifying rounds, international friendlies and women’s and youth football, often in a 20:45 multiplex so two games run side by side. France’s own World Cup matches and the finals sit elsewhere (TF1, M6, beIN); this is the supporting card around them.
The catch is the rights, because the channel holds them for French soil only. Log in from London or New York and the L’Équipe Live Foot player simply refuses, since the server reads a non-French IP and throws up the geo-block even with a valid subscription. The fix is mechanical, not magical. Point Surfshark at a server in France, pick up a French IP and the library behaves exactly as it does back home. Picture quality holds at 1080p, so a Tuesday-night qualifier still looks sharp on a big screen.

Who’s behind the service?
What is L’Équipe Live Foot
L’Équipe Live Foot is a paid, football-only streaming channel from L’Équipe (EPA Amaury), live at live.lequipe.fr since June 2024. It is a low-cost add-on (6.99 euros a month on a 12-month plan, or 7.99 with no commitment), not pay-per-match. You get World Cup 2026 qualifiers, selected Nations League ties, UEFA club qualifying rounds, internationals and women’s and youth football: 20-plus competitions a season. Just don’t expect Ligue 1 or the Champions League here.

Company and history
- In May 2024 L’Équipe announced an all-football digital channel, promising more than 400 live matches before the year was out.
- The channel went live on 3 June 2024 as a paid add-on to the L’Équipe digital subscription, reachable on the web and in the app.
- Right after launch the channel carried the 2024 Copa América from 20 June to 14 July, its first big tournament and an early audience draw.
- On 29 October 2024 the L’Équipe group secured French Serie A rights for 2024/25; the opener, AC Milan against Napoli, aired that night.
- On 10 July 2025 DAZN took all Italian football exclusively for 2025/26, so the channel lost Serie A and the Coppa Italia and leaned on qualifiers and national-team games.
- From September 2025 the channel built its schedule around European club qualifiers, selected Nations League fixtures and friendlies, often in an evening 20:45 multiplex.
- In March 2026 the channel ran World Cup 2026 play-off qualifiers, among them Italy’s 2-0 win over Northern Ireland on 26 March, in a 20:45 evening multiplex.

Tips & tricks you should know
5 tips from our L’Équipe Live Foot testing team · Updated June 10, 2026
- Pick the 12-month plan at 6.99 EUR a month instead of 7.99 EUR with no commitment and you shave roughly 13 percent off the yearly cost.
- Treat Live Foot as a paid football-only add-on, not a Ligue 1 service: it is built around 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the Nations League, European cup qualifying rounds and international friendlies.
- Remember what is elsewhere: France’s own World Cup games and the finals are on TF1, M6 and beIN, so Live Foot is the place for the surrounding qualifiers and second-tier internationals, not the marquee French matches.
- Catch full-match replays and condensed highlights inside the L’Équipe app when you miss a kickoff, rather than hunting for clips elsewhere.
- Because the stream is locked to France, connect Surfshark to a French server before you log in abroad, otherwise the geoblock simply blanks the match.
