Its first broadcast went out from Ibadan, and the operation now runs mainly from Lagos. - Steve Ojo signed on from the Oke-Are hills above Ibadan in May 1994 with a ten-kilowatt transmitter, making Galaxy Television the first privately registered TV station in Nigeria.
- A second station, Channel 27 in Lagos, went live in January 2002. The move extended coverage across the western states and shifted the brand into the country commercial hub.
- In the summer of 2009 the broadcaster launched galaxytvonline.com and began putting news and shows online, its first step from a pure broadcast station toward internet distribution.
