Pamela Voorhees finally gets a show of her own. Crystal Lake, the A24 prequel to Friday the 13th, casts Linda Cardellini as Jason’s grieving mother, and most fans want two answers: where to watch Crystal Lake, and when it drops. In the US, the answer is Peacock on Thursday, October 15, 2026, with all eight episodes at once.
Everyone else gets a different service on a different day. Australians start on Stan a day later, while viewers in the UK and Ireland wait until Monday, October 19. Germany has it oddest of all: HBO Max releases three episodes on October 15 and holds the last three back until October 29. Below you’ll find every confirmed date and how to watch from abroad with the subscription you already pay for.

In the US, Crystal Lake streams exclusively on Peacock, so don’t bother searching other American apps. Our Peacock streaming guide covers the service in more detail. In Canada, Crave lists the series premiere for October 15 but hasn’t said whether the whole season arrives on day one. In the UK and Ireland, Sky holds the rights, and the show streams on both Sky and NOW. For everything else you can watch at home, see our UK streaming services overview.
Across most of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (outside the UK and Ireland), the series belongs to HBO Max. Germany and France start on October 15 and Spain on October 16, while the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and several other HBO Max markets haven’t been given an exact date yet. In Mexico, Colombia and Argentina, it streams on Universal+ from October 16, not on HBO Max.
Crystal Lake release date: do all 8 episodes drop at once?
Season one has eight episodes, each around an hour long, according to Deadline. How quickly you get through them depends entirely on where you live:
US (Peacock): all eight on Thursday, October 15.
Australia (Stan): every episode on Friday, October 16.
UK and Ireland (Sky and NOW): every episode on Monday, October 19.
Germany (HBO Max): three episodes on October 15, two more on October 22 and the final three on October 29.
Everywhere else, the release pattern hasn’t been confirmed, and that includes Canada, France and Spain. Nobody has announced an official release time either. If a site quotes an exact hour, treat it as a guess: as of October 9, 2026, Peacock, Sky, Stan and HBO Max haven’t published one.
When does it come out in the UK and Ireland?
Monday, October 19, 2026, on Sky and NOW. Sky has confirmed that every episode lands that day, so British and Irish viewers can binge the full season, just four days after Americans. Sky’s announcement doesn’t name a specific channel, only Sky and NOW, so the streaming service NOW is the way in if you don’t have Sky.
When does it come out in Canada and Australia?
Canadians can stream it on Crave from Thursday, October 15, the same day as the US. Australians get it on Stan from Friday, October 16, and Stan has confirmed that all episodes arrive at once. In Australia the series is only on Stan.
How to watch from abroad (or before it reaches you)
Six services and a different launch day almost everywhere make for an obvious headache. An American on vacation in Europe opens the Peacock app and finds the show won’t play, because streaming services decide what you see based on where you’re connecting from. A Brit stuck abroad on October 19 runs into the same wall with Sky and NOW. And a viewer in Germany has to wait until October 29 for the finale while the rest of the world is already talking about it.
A VPN from our table solves this. Connect to a server in the country where your service operates, and the app treats you as if you were at home. You keep paying for your own subscription: the VPN only changes your virtual location, it doesn’t unlock anything for free. The ranking below is based on StreamFix data on which VPNs currently work with Peacock, and how we score VPNs is public.
Tested on October 4, 2026 · 7 VPNs, 6 working · residential IP from the United States · Peacock updates detection continuously, results may change.
⚠️
Streaming service blocking your VPN? Just disconnect and hop onto a different server in the same country. Stick to the ones labeled “streaming” or “optimized” because they’re literally built for this.
Four steps to watch from anywhere
Pick the country where the service you subscribe to has the full season, for example the US on October 15.
Install a VPN from the table above and connect to a server in that country.
Open the service and sign in with your own account.
No. As of October 9, 2026, Crystal Lake isn’t on Netflix, so our Netflix guide won’t help you with this one. It isn’t on SkyShowtime either. The mix-up is understandable, because Sky has it in the UK and Ireland, but Sky and SkyShowtime are separate services. In mainland Europe the show went to HBO Max.
In the English-speaking markets, your options are Peacock in the US, Crave in Canada, Stan in Australia, and Sky or NOW in the UK and Ireland.
What is it about, and how does it tie into the 1980 film?
Pam Voorhees is a single mother who still can’t shake her grief almost a year after her young son, Jason, drowned in the town lake. Then two strangers turn up at her door and start digging into her past. What follows is a string of unsettling events, and the people of Crystal Lake begin to wonder who Pam really is.
If you’ve seen the original Friday the 13th from 1980, you know where her story ends up. In that film, Pamela Voorhees, played by Betsy Palmer, murders the counselors at Camp Crystal Lake because her son drowned while they weren’t paying attention. The series takes place before those events, so this is the story of how a mother gets there. The connection goes beyond names: Victor Miller, who wrote the 1980 screenplay, is an executive producer on the show.
Showrunner Brad Caleb Kane has described it as a paranoid ’70s thriller, and Stan bills it as a psychological thriller. Either way, it’s horror made for adults, so plan to watch after the kids are in bed.
Cast: who plays Pamela Voorhees?
Linda Cardellini plays Pamela “Pam” Voorhees. Variety reported her casting in March 2025. The main cast around her:
William Catlett as Levon Brooks, the local police chief
Devin Kessler as Brianna, Levon’s sister and a journalist
Cameron Scoggins as police officer Dorf
Gwendolyn Sundstrom as Grace, a fellow camper and Jason’s friend
Callum Vinson as young Jason
Nick Cordileone (Ralph), Joy Suprano (Rita), Danielle Kotch (Claudette) and Phoenix Parnevik (Barry) round out the recurring cast.
Who made the series?
The road to the screen was a long one. Peacock gave the show a straight-to-series order back in 2022, with Bryan Fuller attached. Fuller left in 2024, writing that A24 had “elected to go a different way with the material.” Brad Caleb Kane took over as showrunner in August 2024 and is the series’ creator and writer.
Directing is split three ways. Michael Lennox handles episodes 1 to 3, Celine Held and Logan George direct episodes 4 to 6, and Quyen Tran closes the season with episodes 7 and 8.
Is there a trailer?
Yes, two of them. Peacock posted the official teaser on its YouTube channel on July 13, 2026, and the full official trailer followed on September 13, 2026. Both are still on Peacock’s channel, and the trailer is the better pick if you want a feel for the tone before launch day.

Stream not working? What to do
If the show won’t start after you connect, these four fixes solve most problems:
Check the server country. It has to match the service: a US server for Peacock, a UK or Irish server for Sky and NOW, an Australian one for Stan.
Try another server in the same country. Some addresses get flagged, and a different one often works straight away.
Clear the cache or open a private window. The app may still remember your real location from an earlier visit.
Use your own subscription to that service. A VPN changes where you appear to be, but you still need an active account with Peacock, Sky, NOW, Stan or Crave.
The quickest route is the VPN at the top of our table, which, according to StreamFix data, currently works best with Peacock. Set it up before October 15 so you’re ready the moment the season goes live.
In the US, Crystal Lake streams exclusively on Peacock from October 15, 2026. Canada gets it on Crave on October 15, Australia on Stan on October 16, and the UK and Ireland on Sky and NOW on October 19. Most of Europe gets it on HBO Max, and Latin America on Universal+.

Season one has eight episodes of around an hour each. Peacock in the US, Stan in Australia, and Sky and NOW in the UK and Ireland release them all at once. HBO Max in Germany splits them up: three on October 15, two on October 22 and three on October 29. Other countries haven’t confirmed their release pattern yet.
