How to Watch RafaelKino outside Poland: VPN Guide 2026
The Krakow-based Catholic publisher Dom Wydawniczy Rafael opened its 2024 video store RafaelKino, a pay-per-title library built entirely around Christian cinema: lives of the saints, films about John Paul II, pro-life documentaries and the series The Chosen. There is no monthly subscription here, the way ordinary streaming works. Instead you rent one film at a time for a few zloty, pay upfront through Przelewy24, and watch it within the rental window before access expires.
The catch is geography. The service is locked to Polish territory, so anyone in the diaspora or simply travelling outside Poland hits a wall without a Polish IP address. A reliable VPN puts that right by giving you a Polish IP, after which RafaelKino behaves exactly as it would back home and the rental goes through normally. Keep two limits in mind, though: it runs only in a desktop browser on Windows or Mac, and the picture tops out around standard 720p quality.

Who’s behind the service?
What is RafaelKino
RafaelKino is a Polish rental service built around Catholic and Christian faith cinema. It is run by Rafael Media Sp. z o.o. in Kraków, part of the Dom Wydawniczy Rafael publishing group and its Rafael Film distribution arm, and it has been operating since early 2024. The catalogue holds more than fifty titles, including films about saints and John Paul II, pro-life and faith documentaries, and biblical series. Recognisable names range from Sound of Freedom and the series The Chosen to Fatima, Medjugorje and Reagan. The model is pay per title. You rent individual films rather than taking out a subscription, and there is no free tier. The interface is in Polish and the films carry a Polish voice-over, with playback offered in standard quality. One thing worth knowing is the device support: it works only in desktop browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera on Windows and Mac. Mobile browsers, Safari, iPhone, iPad, apps, Smart TV and Chromecast are not supported. Access is limited to Poland and requires a Polish IP address.
Company and history
- In early 2024 Dom Wydawniczy Rafael launched the video store RafaelKino and headlined it with Sound of Freedom, one of the most talked-about Catholic films of recent years.
- Over 2024 the RafaelKino catalogue expanded through its own Rafael Film distribution, bringing Polish cinema titles such as Claret, 21.37 and Triumf Serca into one Catholic library.
- In its first year RafaelKino built on a pay-per-title rental model: prices start from a few zloty, and a full season of The Chosen works out cheaper than buying episodes one by one.
- By autumn 2025 RafaelKino had cemented its role as a fast cinema-to-web window, picking up fresh premieres just weeks after their Polish theatrical release.
- On 14 November 2025 RafaelKino added the documentary Beczka. Bierzemy odpowiedzialność, about sixty years of a Krakow Dominican community, just a month after its cinema debut.
- On 6 March 2026 the documentary Wielkie Ostrzeżenie, directed by Juan Salas Tameza and winner of fourteen international awards, joined RafaelKino after its cinema run.

Tips & tricks you should know
5 tips from our RafaelKino testing team · Updated June 13, 2026
- RafaelKino is rental only with no subscription and no free tier, so you pay per title and only for films you actually want to watch.
- Premiere titles rent for 19.90 PLN over a 72-hour window while older films start around 4.90 PLN, so always check each title's rental hours before buying.
- The service runs on desktop browsers only, and Safari, iPhone and iPad will not play the films, so use Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Opera on a computer.
- The whole catalogue, from saint biopics and Fatima to The Chosen seasons, comes with Polish voiceover only, so expect a language barrier without Polish.
- Access is locked to a Polish IP address, so from abroad you will need Surfshark on a Polish server to reach the films, with payment handled through the Przelewy24 gateway.
