- CME launched Nova Cinema as the second movie-and-series channel of TV Nova. At first it was distributed through cable operators, IPTV and the CS Link satellite platform.
- Nova Cinema entered the terrestrial DVB-T multiplex 2 and became a fully free-to-air channel, mandatorily carried in the lowest program package alongside the main Nova station.
- Nova Cinema added a high-definition feed, giving viewers an HD version of the channel. The move answered the fast spread of HD broadcasting on the Czech market.
- The investment group PPF completed its takeover of media conglomerate CME, bringing Nova Cinema and the whole Nova group under Czech ownership.
- The Nova group launched the paid OnePlay platform, merging Voyo and O2 TV. Nova's archive and premium content moved there, while the linear Nova Cinema stayed free.
- PPF reported that after two months OnePlay had about 1.4 million subscribers, putting the service at the front of the Czech streaming market.
- The Nova group renamed its thematic channel Nova Gold to the crime-focused Nova Krimi with a new logo and slogan, reinforcing the genre line-up around Nova Cinema.
