What is Combate
Combate is the Brazilian combat-sports channel owned by Grupo Globo. It carries live MMA, kickboxing, boxing, muay thai and jiu-jitsu, including leagues such as PFL, ONE Championship and Jungle Fight. You can watch it through Combate Play and the Globoplay plus Combate combo on globo.com, or as pay-per-view via Brazilian pay-TV operators. The programming is in Portuguese, available only inside Brazil, in 1080p Full HD with no HDR.

Major changes
- Grupo Globo launched the Premiere Combate channel, the first Brazilian pay-TV station devoted entirely to fighting. It aired through pay-per-view cable operators and opened the era of combat sports on Brazilian TV.
- The channel split from the Premiere franchise and rebranded to simply Combate. The new name gave it a standalone identity, apart from Globosat’s film and football channel bundle.
- Combate launched the Combate Play streaming service. For the first time, subscribers could watch live cards and the archive on phones, tablets, laptops and PCs, away from the traditional TV set.

- The PFL Champions Series era began, and that league, which had swallowed Bellator, became a backbone of Combate’s schedule. Brazilian fans now had the year’s major MMA cards gathered in one place.
- Combate aired the men’s semifinals of Jungle Fight’s Fight do Milhão live from Farma Conde Arena in São José dos Campos, alongside TV Globo and SporTV, with a 500,000-real prize on the line for the welterweight winner.
