How to watch ADN outside France in 2026
Launched in 2013 from the Kazé and Kana anime labels of VIZ Media Europe, this service has been owned outright by Média-Participations since 2022, dubs with real voice actors, and drops each new episode roughly an hour after it airs in Japan. ADN keeps its catalogue tied to France and the French-speaking region, plus Germany and Austria, and, since April 2026, Poland, so a US connection lands on a region error instead of the simulcast queue, and even the free previews stay sealed.
The fix is a location swap. Surfshark routes your traffic through France, the player reads a Paris IP, and the ADN library plays in 1080p. You still pay for your own plan the way any French viewer does, but a domestic server is what unlocks the dubbed rows and the VOSTFR simulcasts on ADN. Picture quality holds up, and you switch between subtitles and French audio with one tap, season after season.

Who’s behind the service?
What is ADN
ADN (Animation Digital Network) is France’s go-to anime streaming service. It simulcasts new episodes roughly an hour after they air in Japan and backs that with a library of around 550 series and films, over 15,000 episodes, in French subs plus its own human-voiced dubs, never AI. Fully independent under publisher Média-Participations since 2022, it’s the homegrown French alternative to Crunchyroll, now also reaching Germany, Austria and Poland.

Company and history
- The service launches in France as Anime Digital Network, built from the Kazé and Kana anime labels of VIZ Media Europe. It opens with thousands of episodes and dozens of films.
- After taking over the European group, Crunchyroll folds the service into its brands. For a few years ADN operates under the American owner specialised in Japanese animation.
- On 27 July the service splits from Crunchyroll and Média-Participations buys the remaining half from Sony Pictures Television to become the sole owner. With the change it renames itself from Anime to Animation Digital Network.
- A German beta goes live: the app and website gain a German interface and the service starts courting viewers in Germany and Austria ahead of its official launch.
- Summer brings the official German launch with an in-house dubbing studio. The German catalogue passes a thousand episodes and the service voices titles such as DAN DA DAN itself.
- The service adds a cheaper STARTER tier at 3.99 euros a month. It offers the whole catalogue ad-free with downloads, capped at 720p instead of the full resolution.
- The service opens in Poland as the next step of its European expansion. Polish fans get their own pricing in zloty, widening the set of markets where ADN runs natively.
